An animation of the eScent smart mask releasing inhaled neroli (citrus aurantium), which has the effect of reducing stress and anxiety, according to one double-blinded placebo-controlled trial [1].

The animation shows the scent being detected by olfactory nerves, passing to the olfactory bulb and then to the brain's olfactory centres, the amygdala, hippocampus, and orbitofrontal cortex. These structures process the signals and act to reduce stress.
